Over 30 Years of Serving the Community of Enon!

Since 1977 the Enon Community Historical Society has been bringing the best to you through many special events, services and projects.

The Apple Butter Festival

Since 1980, hosts community organizations and local area citizens' specially chosen crafts, foods, arts and entertainment. The Festival features actual demonstrations of our ancestors' work -- apple butter making -- done the old fashioned way.

Restoration & Preservation Projects

The second largest conical Native American Mound in the state of Ohio has been one of the society's main thrusts. Located east of downtown, the Adena Mound clearly shows Enon life of a different kind.

Restoration of an 1830 Log Home, one of the earliest homes in Enon, has become a feature location for re-living history at its best through story telling sessions, demonstrations, and even talks with Saint Nicholas.

Enon Community Historical Society Heritage Room

The home of the society is the Heritage Room, just behind the Village Government Building. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and by appointment, this headquarters provides members with an extensive genealogy library as well as interesting history books of the area. From microfilm and ancestor books to special collection exhibits and audiovisual documentation, the society's room comes alive for the whole family.
